Day Four: Sacred Renewal
Establishing Healthy Habits / Cultivate Trust and Patience
Take this 5 day writing journey a day at a time. Find some time in the morning or before bed to go into each day’s inquiry. Some topics may feel sensitive, so go gently. You might feel inspired to doodle rather than write, or maybe just use bullet points. Write in a way that feels best for you.
Each day take the time to set the mood. Light a candle, find a relaxing playlist, burn some incense. Whatever it is that makes this time feel a little more dedicated. Turn off all notifications. Set a timer. This will be your sacred container. For a half hour or so, prioritize this process- knowing you could easily get distracted, but vow not to.
Grab a pen and paper- a journal- a cup of tea or joe and let’s take a few moments every day this week to get grounded and gain a little bit of perspective. Write freely, letting your thoughts flow. This is your time to connect with yourself, away from the noise and expectations of the world.

Our life is our “life’s work.” We are always in process, evolving daily in our own unfurling. Everything you learned in the past year has contributed to who you are—these tiny steps, the big leaps. It's all brought you to this moment. See change as a timely metamorphosis.
Often, we don’t like to look back because we're afraid to see our great big mess of mistakes. Worried all we're going to see is missed opportunities and false starts. But it's really vital to understand that all of these, quote-unquote, failures are really just life practice. You have to go through some of these things in order to actually find your success.
Establishing Healthy Habits:
In the spirit of renewal remember, even as we wrote our list of “more of this, less of that,” it’s not just about taking things away. It’s about showing up for yourself above all else. Change doesn’t always mean denying the things you enjoy. It can mean drawing in a more positive influence. Begin to replace rather than restrict. For instance, add more nourishing foods - then naturally indulge less.
Studies have shown that it takes an average of 66 days to establish a habit. When done with awareness, a habit transforms into a ritual—a primal act of self-love. Build habits that support your wellness. Create a scaffolding to structure your dreams.
Print out a habit tracker and hold yourself accountable. Journal, take a walk every day, set some time aside for meditation. Spend a few minutes each day nurturing your overall well-being with these daily rituals.
This habit tracker is in the printable journal, for all paid subscribers.
Cultivate Trust and Patience:
Allow and accept that where you are right now is exactly where you need to be. Soak in the lessons meant for you. Invite something fresh into your life. Be patient and know that important things take time. What do you want to bring forth with ease and grace? Don’t rush. Don’t push. Be.
Take your emotional pulse. Before you can rush toward your future plans, are you bypassing where you need to be right now? How do you feel in your life at this time? How do you most want to feel?
Move closer to that which restores you. Remember when support is needed, we can reach out to our friends, mentors, or therapists. Nap, take a warm bath, or get a massage. Take a minute to connect to the body. Bring in a full inhale and slowly let the exhale go. Find a trail to move your body and do a nature gazing. Spend some time in the sanctuary of the wild.
The high activity of this fast paced world keeps us going and experiencing. Process it all without judgement or attachment. Without getting stuck in a story of who you are based on what you did. Give up any unmet expectations of what you had envisioned.
It’s the flaws and all that make us unique in our insights and perspectives as we move through the world. What we see as imperfections are often what lead us to our calling, our intrinsic purpose - -our dharma.
Self- inquiry is that golden thread of spirituality. A potent potential for evolution. That transformation need not be a change in our appearance or a whole life over-haul. Sometimes the most potent shift comes in the form of self-love. A powerful acceptance of who we are in our entirety.
